The Story
Dr. Mario turned the plumber into a doctor throwing two-colored pills to eliminate red, yellow and blue viruses in a jar. Compared to Tetris it was more strategic and less frenetic: every move had to consider both existing viruses and positioning for future combos. The Game Boy version was perfect for short sessions: the small screen concentrated action and Link Cable multiplayer was ruthless and competitive. The Fever Theme โ the tune accompanying matches โ is an earworm that once in your head never leaves. Sold millions proving Game Boy was the definitive puzzle platform.
