Game Boy Tetris is portable gaming history's most important game. Gunpei Yokoi insisted on including it instead of Super Mario Land as pack-in, a decision that changed everything. Henk Rogers flew to Moscow during the Cold War to negotiate rights with Alexey Pajitnov, in a thriller-worthy story. The result: 35 million copies sold, Game Boy in the hands of grandmothers, businessmen and children. Tetris was universal — no game before had reached such a wide audience.
