The Story

A Link to the Past defined the Zelda formula that would last for generations. The Light World and Dark World were parallel versions of the same map, and jumping between them to solve puzzles was a stroke of genius. Seven dungeons in the Dark World, each with a unique item (the Hookshot!), memorable bosses and secrets everywhere. The Master Sword, Bottles, heart pieces: all introduced here. Miyamoto wanted an adventure that felt immense while fitting in an 8-Megabit cartridge, and succeeded masterfully.
