The Story
Silent Hill transformed a technical limitation into art: the fog hiding geometry pop-in became the game's most powerful horror element. Harry Mason searched for his daughter in a fog-shrouded town with impossible creatures. Unlike Resident Evil (action horror), Silent Hill was psychological terror: the radio crackling near monsters, sirens shifting the world. Akira Yamaoka composed an industrial soundtrack that defined the genre.
