Pong Squash (Handball)

Squash (also called Handball on some models) radically changed Pong's dynamic: both players were on the same side of the screen keeping the ball in play against an opposite wall. It was the first cooperative game in home video game history — a concept that would become central to gaming decades later. The ball bounced from the wall at increasingly tight angles, requiring coordination between players. Could also be played solo as practice. The shift from competition (Tennis) to cooperation (Squash) on the same machine demonstrated the Pong concept's versatility.
