Warlords

Warlords transformed Breakout into a 4-player medieval war: each player defended their castle in a screen corner with a paddle-controlled shield, while a fireball bounced destroying walls and kings. With 4 paddles connected, chaos was total: temporary alliances, betrayals, screaming, and the terror of seeing the fireball heading toward your exposed king. It was perfect competitive multiplayer — 40 years before Mario Party. Without 4 paddles it worked in 2 players, but lost the four-player chaos magic.
