Secret of Mana

Secret of Mana was revolutionary for cooperative multiplayer: up to 3 simultaneous players in an action-RPG with the SNES Multitap. The Ring Menu — a radial circle for selecting items and spells — was so intuitive it's been imitated for decades. Hiroki Kikuta's soundtrack mixed gamelan, rock and ambient. Mana's world was fairy-tale and magic grew with use. A co-op experience few games have matched.
