Spyro the Dragon

Spyro was the 3D platformer for those who found Crash too hard and Mario too far away. Insomniac Games created open, colorful worlds with innovative distance rendering. Spyro glided, charged with horns and breathed fire in accessible gameplay full of secrets. Stewart Copeland's soundtrack (Police drummer) was perfect. Sparx the dragonfly as health indicator was a genius touch.
