The Story
Phantasy Star is the JRPG that defined the Master System. While Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest dominated the Famicom, Sega responded with a game superior in many aspects: female protagonist (Alis Landale), first-person dungeons with smooth scrolling, a solar system with three interconnected planets. The 4-Megabit cartridge was the largest of its time. It still holds up against many modern JRPGs today.
