The Story
Kirby's Dream Land was designed by 19-year-old Masahiro Sakurai with a precise goal: create a platformer anyone could complete. Kirby flew, inhaled enemies and spat stars in a deliberately short (45 minutes) and accessible game. He didn't have the Copy system yet โ that came with NES's Kirby's Adventure. Simplicity was the point: where Mario punished mistakes, Kirby forgave them. Extra Game (unlockable hard mode) offered challenge for experienced players. Kirby was born as a pink placeholder in the development version and stayed because he was perfect.
