Final Fantasy Tactics

Final Fantasy Tactics is PS1's deepest strategy game and one of the best tactical RPGs ever. The Job system with 20 combinable classes offered virtually infinite customization. But the real triumph was the story: political intrigue, betrayal, heresy and civil war in Ivalice, written by Yasumi Matsuno. Ramza and Delita were complex protagonists in a narrative not treating the player like a child. Balance was imperfect — Orlandu broke the game — but depth compensated everything.
