The Story

Pokémon Pinball united two addictions — pinball and Pokémon catching — in a surprisingly deep game. Two tables (red with Voltorb and blue with Pikachu as central elements) with catching, evolution and bonus stage mechanics based on the original 151. The cartridge contained a built-in vibration motor — the first Game Boy cartridge with haptic feedback in history — making the console vibrate with every hit. Simple in approach but irresistibly replayable in practice, perfect for short sessions: 'just one more game' becoming an hour. Jupiter, the same Picross studio, had a unique talent for portable addictions.
